Are smoker's
ostracized?
31 people said that they were
non-smokers and 21 said that they were
smokers (including social smoking).
Of the 31 non-smokers...
- 90% agreed that the current law in Monroe County is fair and 10%
disagreed.
- Being allowed to check all that apply, they felt that smoking
should be permitted 13% in restaurants, 19% in sports stadiums, 81% in bars, 6% in the
workplace, and 13% on school grounds (for those 18 and Older).
- They also felt that relationships between smokers are generally
formed 74% of the time.
- It is believed by 97% that the media promotes non-smoking over
smoking. 77% say that this is fair to smokers and 90% say that it is fair to
non-smokers.
- When asked if they feel shunned from society because they do not
smoke, 16% said yes while the other 84% felt no different.
Of the 21 smokers...
- 81% agreed that that current law in Monroe County is fair and 19%
disagreed.
- Again with checking all that apply, they felt smoking should be
permitted 67% in restaurants, 76% in sports stadiums, 100% in bars, 52% in the workplace,
and 62% on school grounds.
- They also felt that relationships between smokers are generally
formed only 62% of the time.
- It is believed by 76% that the media promotes non-smoking over
smoking. 71% say that this is fair to smokers and 71% also say that it is fair to
non-smokers.
- When asked if they feel shunned from society because that do
smoke, 24% said yes and 76% said that they felt no different.
